Fuerbringer remade Time in turbulent '60s
Otto Fuerbringer, the hard-driving, conservative-leaning managing editor of Time magazine during the political and social upheavals of the 1960s -- a time of change for the magazine, too -- died July 28 at his retirement home in Fullerton, Calif. He was 97.

A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, in Shaarie Torah Memorial Cemetery Chapel for Herman E. Mills, who died Aug. 2 at age 81.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, in Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home for Margaret Cook of Portland, who died July 30 at age 64.

SEATTLE -- Samuel Snow, one of 28 African American soldiers who were wrongly convicted in a riot and lynching of a World War II prisoner in Seattle in 1944, clung to life just long enough for his name to be cleared.
