• Comedy family matriarch dies at 94
Estelle Reiner, who as the wife of Carl Reiner and the mother of Rob Reiner was the matriarch of one of the leading families in American comedy, and who delivered one of the most memorably funny lines in movie history, died Oct. 25 at her home in Beverly Hills, Calif. She was 94.

• Lorraine Anderson
A gathering will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008, in the Ambassador Business Center, 7515 N.E. Ambassador Place, Suite C, for Lorraine Anderson, who died Oct. 26 of lung cancer at age 78.
• Martha Louise Amo
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Light of Light Lutheran Church in Aloha for Martha Louise Amo of Beaverton, who died Oct. 14 of cancer at age 73.
• Muir made mark as 'Howdy Doody' honcho
E. Roger Muir, who helped create and was executive producer of "The Howdy Doody Show," the puppet-and-people program that first hooked millions of kids on television in its early days, died Oct. 23 near his home in Wolfeboro, N.H. Muir, who went on to produce other successful shows, including the game show "Concentration," was 89.
• P. Cameron DeVore helped media law flourish
P. Cameron DeVore, an attorney who helped establish the field of media law and was one of the first to argue successfully that advertising is a form of protected speech, died Sunday at his home on Lopez Island, near Seattle. He was 76.
• Ray E. Boyer
Ray E. Boyer died Oct. 23 at age 64.
• Richard Denner

• Terry Haynes
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, in Peninsula Church of Christ in Portland for Terry Haynes of Portland, who died Oct. 29 of injuries from a traffic accident at age 53.
