Open Question: Could Freemasons help people with criminal records gain entry to the USA? Top
Would it be beneficial for my friend to join the Freemasons in order to receive preferential treatment by senior officials in the US Department of Homeland Security in connection with his intention to legally enter the US, which is in light of his criminal background - i.e. to what extent could the Freemasons bend the rules to allow my friend to legally enter the United States? Please give reasons to support your answer.

Open Question: Could Freemasons afford preferential treatment to criminals? Top
John, a close friend of mine (I am not at liberty to disclose his last name) has a criminal record in the United Kingdom, which involves:- 1) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for collecting money without a license in the UK in Feb. 1994. 2) Arrested for domestic violence in Feb. 2007, but subsequently de-arrested because his family didn't wish to pursue a complaint (which is still traceable by a Criminal Records Bureau Enhanced Disclosure in the UK). 3) Arrested, detained, and cautioned for criminal battery in the UK in April 2007. John has always been fascinated with America and he is desperate to emigrate for political reasons. In order to do so, he needs to obtain a "Waiver of ineligibility" in connection with his criminal record. However, any port of entry could still refuse him on discretionary grounds. Moreover, John is concerned his criminal record might be extensive enough to have him permanently debarred from obtaining a Green Card, which is a permanent immigrant's visa to the US. Legally speaking, it's impossible to become a US Citizen unless you've been a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years prior to one's application to become a US Citizen. As a friend, I have tried my best to help John in this matter. John is unable to pay the requisite fees to consult a US immigration lawyer in the UK. I have offered to lend him all the necessary monies to allow him to consult Gudeon & McFadden US Immigration Lawyers in London; but John is a proud man and he has outrightly rejected my offer to lend him this money. I myself have a limited knowledge of US Immigration Law, which is based on a few information available on the web. As I understand, certain individuals with a criminal background could still be theoretically rehabilitated over a period of 15 years provided they have immediate family in the US e.g. spouse or dependent minors who are either Permanent Residents or US Citizens. John is previously divorced with no children, but he is seriously considering the possibility of joining an American expatriate organization in this country in order to marry a US citizen, which would afford him the option of being rehabilitated over the next 12 years (given that his most recent criminal offense was committed in April 2007). However, I believe that only certain categories of criminals can be legally rehabilitated according to US immigration law, which depends on the seriousness of one's overall criminal background. Hence, I am not sure whether John would be eligible for rehab. under the circumstances of his criminal background. Moreover, I am advising John about a further option, which is to gain entry to the US much sooner on the grounds of hardship to his immediate family in the US i.e. spouse or dependent minors under the age of 18 years. I understand that US Congress provides a facility for individuals with a criminal record to obtain a US Green Card on the basis of alleged hardship to the individual's spouse or dependent minors. However, John is also concerned about the social stigma attached to any claims about alleged hardship to his family, because he says it would be tantamount to "begging" for clemency from the US Department of Homeland Security. Last but not least, John is concerned no decent American lady would willingly choose to get involved with somebody of his background, knowing full well it would require her full cooperation with regards to filing for his entry on the basis of hardship on her behalf or on behalf of any future children born in the US - no decent, intelligent or educated female would be complicit with such an arrangement, which would require her to go completely out of her way to ensure such a plan would have any hope of success. My dear friend is concerned no decent woman would accept him now in connection with his criminal record, which would almost certainly prevent his entry to the US in the short term - that is, nobody but "trailer trash" would go along with such a hair brain scheme as this. I would appreciate a definitive response from any individual (i.e. either a student or US attorney) who is legally qualified to advise on this subject. First, is it legally possible for somebody with John's criminal history to be rehabilitated over the next 12 years? Second, is there any social stigma attached to filing for entry to the US on the basis of alleged hardship to one's immediate family? Third, is it probably the case my friend will never be able to find a nice, decent or respectable lady who would accept him in light of his criminal background and extraordinary steps she would have to undergo to affect his short term entry to the US - it seems no intelligent woman would be prepared to go along with such an arrangement as this? Last but not least, would it be beneficial for my friend to join the Freemasons in order to receive preferential treatment by senior officials in the US Department of Homeland Security in connection with his inten Last but not least, would it be beneficial for my friend to join the Freemasons in order to receive preferential treatment by senior officials in the US Department of Homeland Security in connection with his intention to legally enter the US, which is in light of his criminal background - i.e. to what extent could the Freemasons bend the rules to allow my friend to legally enter the United States? Open Question: Would you ever write to or visit a convicted murder? Why or why not? Top
Would you ever visit or write to a convicted murder? Why or why not? If so, would it be anyone in particular? What would you discuss? If I ever did do that I would probably meet/write to Marjorie Orbin. She is convicted of killing her husband. She was married 7 times by the age of 35 & was a former stripper, las vegas showgirl, choreographer, model & actress. She is also beautiful. She is very intriguing & interesting & I'd just love to sit down & talk with her about her life, regrets , careers, general conversation etc.

Open Question: Does anyone think that we will have another civil war? Top
I see how corrupt our government has gotten, how both major political parties are twisted and it makes me wonder if this was what it felt like right before the civil war. It's even getting to the point where there is violence between parties. Does anyone think that a civil war will happen? This isn't meant to start a fight or mean that I am saying we should have one. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks that it will happen.

Try a hamburger, it will make you feel better.

Open Question: How to set out an Affidavit regarding your legal surname if judge wont accept the same? Top
When my ex husband kidnapped one of my children I was advised to take a different surname until the youngest of my children turned 18 after which I could revert back to my maiden name. However I have asked the Court to change my divorce certificate, also to be used as id for my driving licence, from the surname I used, but never officially or legally changed to, prior to my youngest son turning 18 but for some reason, unbeknown to me and as far as I am aware would be deemed to have been carried out illegally as there is nor ever was any official or legal documentation or documentary evidence that I changed my surname to the one I used for the above timescale. Surely this judge is in breach of several Law Society Rules & Regulations and it would be seen as a necessary and legal requirement to make sure certain Court documents i.e. divorce certificates etc. showed the persons correct and legally binding surname and not one that is neither of the same

Open Question: Is it considered assault to dunk someones head under water? Top
for example, if someone dunked someones head under water at a swimming pool for a few seconds, would that be assault? because waterboarding is considered assault doesn't that mean that dunking someones head would be assault? Or is water boarding more severe than dunking someones head under water. Is water boarding still used against terrorists, or is it now completely illegal? Thanks for any answers.

Open Question: Burglars, what is it they are using? Top
Someone help me please... I live in a tower block and things have been going missing for sometime now. Theres alot been going on here whilst im out. Ive realised my neighbours are using cameras, which i found out by a plumber were pipe cameras.. Recently i realised their using another thing ive never heard about before.. Theres a very fine (hairlike) cotton, they put through my letter box, airing cupboard, bathroom and my windows. Its really weird because i cant acually see it but i hear it get caught and snap sometimes when i shut my doors. Sometimes it seems to have scissors cos i hear it snipping. Theres one more thing and im not sure how to describe it.. Well it seems like theres something that interacts with the window strings, i cant really explain very well cos i dont understand it but i can feel like a vibration going through my body, its not a nice feeling and lately i think this thing could be causing my head to hurt it feels like pressure.. I have been to the police several times, and although i havent explained my recent findings they wont investigate because they think im imagening my things going missing, far from the truth these people have taken almost everything i own bit by bit. I dont think im too far from going crazy though, im devastated to say the least... Hope someone can help. Thanks Louise

Open Question: Is the military responsible? Top
I was kind of hoping for some answers from freethinking people. Not pre-programmed gun lobby copyrighted answers. Far as I know, no man has been robbed or bank held up, by a guy holding a car in his hand. The question was, if your family members was raped and murdered or blown up by weapons, stolen from a military base, is the military responsible? Or can they just write it off to the fact, that countries like stealing nuclear weapons and they are under no obligation to keep them secure. In other words, why blame the military for being careless with weapons, when you can simply blame foreign countries for being crooks. Weapons are hardly ever stolen from military bases, because the military knows that only a complete fool, would let the enemy get their weapons.

Open Question: Why is it illegal to hit a robber? Top
Its the dumbest law off all time. It makes my blood boil and i cant understand why its illegal to protect your family and property. A man got arrested for hitting a robber. What are you supposed to do? Watch the robber rob your house and sit back with a apple? Human rights my ass, its taking AWAY human rights. We must be the only place which has this ridiculous law in the whole world. Not long ago someone got arrested for smacking a robber with a cricket bat. Im sure it is illegal. So? It should be legal to hit the robber even if he hasnt got anything and is running away. I dont care what the robber does or how harmful he is. If you see a robber in your house you should be able to rip his head off and bury him.
