'Executive Suite' brought actress an Oscar nod
Nina Foch, the Dutch-born actress who epitomized the cool, aloof blond sophisticate in films and on television for six decades while thriving as an acting teacher, died Dec. 5 in Los Angeles. She was 84 and lived in Los Angeles.

George Morrison, led fleet in Gulf of Tonkin incident
George S. Morrison, who commanded the fleet during the Gulf of Tonkin incident that led to an escalation of the Vietnam War and whose son Jim was the lead singer of the Doors, died Nov. 17 in Coronado, Calif. He was 89 and lived in Coronado.

Starr Arendt A memorial service has been held for Hanna Adele Starr Arendt, who died at age 14.

'Mo' Marumoto; Nixon aide, dean of D.C. headhunters
WASHINGTON -- William "Mo" Marumoto, 73, who grew up in a World War II internment camp for Japanese Americans and became a White House aide to President Richard Nixon and owner of an executive recruitment business, died Nov. 25 at suburban Inova Fairfax (Va.) Hospital after a heart attack. He was 73.

Researcher, author and dermatologist Bernard Ackerman
NEW YORK -- Dr. A. Bernard Ackerman, a founding figure in the field of dermatopathology who trained a generation of doctors to recognize skin diseases under the microscope, died Dec. 5 at his home in Manhattan. He was 72.

Robert Prosky was versatile supporting actor
WASHINGTON -- Robert Prosky, a supporting actor with hundreds of film, TV and stage credits and whose roles included an avuncular sergeant on the NBC police drama "Hill Street Blues" and a desperate real estate salesman in David Mamet's play "Glengarry Glen Ross," has died. He was 77.
