Adrianna Maria Cram-Romero
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity at the Jesuit Loyola Center in Portland for Adrianna Maria Cram-Romero, who died in Mexico on June 13, 2005, of homicide at age 4. Her remains have only recently been returned to Oregon.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, 2008, in Tremont Evangelical Church for Arthur Bibbs, who died Sept. 12 at age 88.

Authoritative and prolific author on antiques
Ralph Kovel, a nationally known writer on antiques who for more than half a century put prices on the stuff of life, from baseball cards to bottle caps to Barbie's lucrative girdles, died Aug. 28 in Cleveland.

Recitation of the rosary followed by a Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, in Holy Cross Catholic Church for Bridget Kezeor, who died Sept. 6 at age 99.

Dalai Lama's brother led Tibet's political battles
Thubten J. Norbu, the eldest brother of the Dalai Lama and himself regarded as a reincarnated saint, died Sept. 5 in Bloomington, Ind. He had split with his pacifist brother to demand complete independence of Tibet from China, going so far as to help the U.S. government in covert guerrilla warfare.

Franklin R. Hanks
Franklin R. "Frank" Hanks of Damascus died Sept. 5, 2008, of Alzheimer's disease at age 75.

James G. Bauer
A gathering will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, in Big Al's Bowling Alley in Vancouver for James G. Bauer of Vancouver, who died Sept. 2 of cancer at age 65.

Jens 'Cy' P. Simonsen
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, in Central Lutheran Church for Jens "Cy" P. Simonsen, who died Sept. 12 at age 85.

John G. Payne
John G. Payne of Newberg died Sept. 6, 2008, at age 72.

John Martin Traver
A memorial service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, in Village Baptist Church in Beaverton for John Martin Traver, who died Sept. 8 at age 79.

Maxine Bruer Sims
A gathering will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, in Albertina Kerr Centers, 424 N.E. 22nd Ave., for Maxine Bruer Sims, who died Sept. 11 at age 86.

Newspaperman wrote 'Fletch' mysteries
Gregory Mcdonald, former Boston Globe reporter and author of the best-selling "Fletch" mystery novels, was the familiar figure of the newspaperman who longs to write fiction. Unlike most reporters, though, he did something about it.

Randilyn Kae Dean
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, in Beaverton Foursquare Church for Randilyn Kae Dean, who died Sept. 10 of cancer at age 36.
