• High Five
1. "The 80th Academy Awards" Before Sunday night's big show, Portlanders can still catch virtually every important film in the race. All five best picture nominees are in local theaters (though I had to dig a bit to find "Michael Clayton," hanging on at the Portlander) and if you include the video store you can see all 20 acting nominees. After that, it's dicier: Two of the three animated feature nominees ("Ratatouille" and "Surf's Up") are on DVD, while "Persepolis" is in theaters; none of the documentary feature nominees is onscreen, but three are on DVD. And you're pretty much outta luck with the foreign language films because none are onscreen or DVD. (To find movie times and locations, use the tool at www.oregonlive.com/movies)
